Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program
2026-2027 Annual Action Plan
Public Hearing and 30-Day Public Comment Period
March 29, 2026
To All Interested Agencies, Groups, and Persons:
Mecklenburg County (County) would like residents' participation in the review of the 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan (2026-2027 AAP) for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. This annual document is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in order to receive federal assistance to address housing, economic development, and community development issues. The 2026-2027 AAP is a planning document the County submits each year to HUD detailing how the County proposes to spend the CDBG funds during the next program year operating from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. All proposed activities' budget will be proportionally increased or decreased from the estimated funding levels to match actual allocation amounts.
The 2026-2027 AAP is available for public review and comment from March 30, 2026, to April 30, 2026. Copies of the 2026-2027 AAP can be accessed at https://mgr.mecknc.gov/programs/CDBG.
This second public hearing is to receive feedback and enable citizens to comment on the County's CDBG Program 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan.
The County will hold a virtual and in person second public hearing on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 3:00 PM, Centralina Regional Council located at 10735 David Taylor Drive, Suite 250 (the Carolinian conference room), Charlotte, NC 28262.
