RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE AUTHORITY OF NCGS CHAPTER 157 TO THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF CORNELIUS A public hearing will be held to determine if the Board of Commissioners of the Town of Cornelius shall choose to exercise the powers, duties and responsibilities of a housing authority as authorized by Chapter 157 of the North Carolina General Statutes. The public hearing will be held at 6pm in the Assembly Room at Town Hall on Monday, March 16, 2026. All interested persons shall be heard and after the hearing the Board of Commissioners shall determine whether there is a lack of safe, sanitary housing units available at rental rates affordable to persons of low and moderate income within the Town of Cornelius; as well as whether there is a lack of for-sale housing units available for purchase by persons of low and moderate income.
