NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Town of Cornelius 21445 Catawba Avenue, Cornelius, NC The Town of Cornelius Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 6:00 PM in Town Hall on the following items: TA 05-25 Flags: Proposed amendments to Land Development Code Chapters 10 (Signs) and 16 (Planning Board). The purpose of this amendment is to align flag standards with recently adopted state statute. The proposed amendments will create additional flexibility for flagpoles, by allowing flag height and/or size to exceed the established code requirements, subject to public health safety and welfare requirements and the issuance of a Special Use Permit. TA 06-25 Infill Setbacks: Proposed amendments to Land Development Code Chapter 5 (District Provisions). The proposed amendment will modify infill setback standards, by eliminating the infill setback requirement in the General Residential and Rural Preservation Districts, while creating additional flexibility for corner and through lots in the Neighborhood Residential district.
