CITY OF ANNA MARIA COMMISSIONERS NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR PROPOSED NON-AD VALOREM ASSESSMENT UPDATE FOR STORMWATER UTILITY ON SEPTEMBER 8th, 2026 Notice is hereby given that the City of Anna Maria, Florida, will hold a public hearing to consider proposed adjustments to their annual Stormwater Utility assessment. Purpose of Assessment:To provide a stable, dedicated source of funding for stormwater drainage system operations, maintenance, and mandated compliance activities benefiting properties within the City limits. Proposed Assessment Details: Effective Fiscal Year: October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027, and future fiscal years. Proposed Rate:Stormwater assessments will be based on three components: a base fee, an impervious area fee and a high density-based fee. 1. Base Fee: Each property will be assigned to a base fee tier shown below based on the parcel lot size reported by the Manatee County Property Appraiser's office. The annual rate per tier for fiscal year (FY) 2027 is also shown in the table below: Lot Size Category FY27 Base Rate per Tier 0-5,000 sq ft $50.00 5,001-7,500 sq ft $100.00 7,501-10,000 sq ft $150.00 10,001-12,500 sq ft $200.00 12,501-15,000 sq ft $250.00 15,001+ sq ft $300.00 2. Impervious Area Fee: The annual impervious area rate for fiscal year 2027 is $10.50 per 100 square feet of impervious area based upon data received from the Manatee County Property Appraiser's office. 3. High Density Fee: developed properties that exceed the City's current maximum impervious area density of 40% will be assessed an additional high-density fee. This fee will be applied in tiers based on the extent to which a property exceeds the 40% limit. The tiers are as follows: High Density FY27 Percentage of Percentage Tiers Impervious Area Fee < 40% 0% 40% - 45% 100% 45% - 50% 200% 50% - 55% 300% 55% - 60% 400% > 60% 500% Estimated Annual Revenue:The total annual stormwater assessment revenue to be collected is estimated to be $5581,180.83 for the upcoming fiscal year. PUBLIC HEARING: Date:Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 Time:5:00 PM Location:Anna Maria City Hall, City Commission Chambers, 10005 Gulf Drive, Anna Maria, FL 34216. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this hearing to provide comments on the proposed assessment increase. Property owners subject to the assessment may also file a written objection with the City Clerk within twenty (20) days of this notice. Written comments for City Commissioners can be emailed to cityclerk@cityofannamaria.com.
