NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING AND WORKSHOP
The Board of Fire Commissioners of the Cedar Hammock Fire Control District will hold a special meeting on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Cedar Hammock Fire Control District, Station 1, located at 5200 26th Street West, Bradenton, Florida 34207. The purpose of the special meeting is to consider and take final action on an amendment to the Fire Chief's employment agreement. Immediately following the special meeting, the Board will hold a workshop for the purpose of completing the Fire Chief's evaluation.

RESOLUTION 2026-04, 2025-2026 BUDGET AMENDMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
AND
FIRST READING OF AN ORDINANCE OF THE CEDAR HAMMOCK FIRE CONTROL DISTRICT OF MANATEE COUNTY, FLORIDA ADOPTING THE FIRE PREVENTION CODE, ORDINANCE 2026-05, AS RULES AND REGULATIONS OF SAID DISTRICT AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The Board's regularly scheduled meeting will be convened on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Cedar Hammock Fire Control District, Station 1, located at 5200 26th Street West, Bradenton, Florida 34207, and has been separately advertised. During the regular meeting, the Board will recess to conduct the following public hearings:
First, the Board will conduct a public hearing to receive public comment and consider adoption of Resolution 2026-04, amending the Cedar Hammock Fire Control District budget for fiscal year 2025–2026 and providing for an effective date.
Immediately thereafter, the Board will conduct a second public hearing to receive public comment and conduct the first reading of Ordinance 2026-05, adopting the Fire Prevention Code as rules and regulations of the District and providing for an effective date.
Following the public hearings, the Board will reconvene its regular meeting.
Interested parties are encouraged to attend either in person or by agent or submit written comments prior to the public hearings.
No stenographic record by a certified court reporter is made of these proceedings. If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter considered at these meetings, workshop, or public hearings, the person will need a record of the proceedings and, for that purpose, may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. F.S. 286.0105.
