NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS BEFORE THE CITY
OF ANNA PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD AND CITY COMMISSION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Anna Maria Planning and Zoning Board will hold public hearings on August 19, 2026 at 9:00 A.M., and the City of Anna Maria City Commission will hold public hearings on August 27, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. or as soon thereafter as may be heard to consider:
1. (Ord 26-962) A Text Amendment to Chapter 90 INTERNAL TRAFFIC CIRCULATION, ACCESS AND STORAGE to provide for a process for requesting a variance from the regulations.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Anna Maria Planning and Zoning Board will hold public hearings on August 26, 2026 at 9:00 A.M., and the City of Anna Maria City Commission will hold public hearings on September 8, 2026 at 5:01 P.M. or as soon thereafter as may be heard to consider:
1. (Z26-000020) (Related to Z26-000005) A request for a variance from the City of Anna Maria Code of Ordinances access requirements of Section 114-281(b)(3) to allow access to the residential use through the commercial use; setback requirements of Section 114-282(4) to allow a pole sign within the front setback; and screening requirements of Section 114-420(e) to allow a 6-ft tall vinyl fence in lieu of a 6-ft tall wood fence.
2. (Z26-000005) (Related to Z26-000020) A request for site plan approval to convert an existing residential use to a mixed use of residential over office.
All hearings will be at City Hall of the City of Anna Maria, 10005 Gulf Drive, Anna Maria, Florida 34216. All interested parties may appear at the meeting or utilize optional attendance by telecommunications media and be heard regarding this request.
For additional information contact the Anna Maria Building Department. Copies of the proposed requests are on file at the City of Anna Maria City Hall, Building Department and may be reviewed by the public between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, exclusive of holidays.
If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the board, agency, or commission with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
