NOTICE OF HEARING CITY OF PALMETTO HEARINGS MAY BE CONTINUED FROM TIME TO TIME The Planning and Zoning Board will hold a Public Hearing on May 7, 2026, at 5:45 p.m. and the City Commission will hold a Public Hearing on May 18, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the Palmetto City Hall Chambers, 516 8th Avenue West, Pal- metto, Florida, to approve staff proposed updates to the Comprehensive Plan to allow for consistency with Florida Statutes and for adoption of the following Ordinance: ORDINANCE NO.: 2026-07 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PALMETTO, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE PALMETTO COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, ORDINANCE 2010-01, AS AMENDED; AMENDING AND ADDING DEFINITIONS; AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE ELEMENT, TRANSPORTATION ELEMENT, HOUSING ELEMENT, SANITARY SEWER ELEMENT, SOL- ID WASTE ELEMENT, STORMWATER ELEMENT, POTABLE WATER ELEMENT, COASTAL MANAGEMENT ELE- MENT, CONSERVATION ELEMENT, PARKLAND OPEN SPACE, AND RECREATION ELEMENT, PUBLIC SCHOOL ELEMENT, INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATION ELEMENT, AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ELEMENT; PROVIDING FOR AMENDMENTS RELATED TO THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AREA; PROVIDING FOR UPDATES; PROVIDING FOR A CODIFIED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. The proposed text amendments will affect all the properties within the City of Palmetto City limits as shown in the below map: If any person desires to appeal any decision of the City Commission or any other Board of the City, that person will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based (Section 286.0105, F.S.) In addition, a complete legal description by metes and bounds and a copy of the Ordinance can be obtained from the Office of the Clerk or from the Development Services Division.
