NOTICE OF 30- DAY COMMENT PERIOD AND PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE OF ADOPTION- 2026-2030 CONSOLIDATED PLAN AND 2026-2027 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN CITY OF BRADENTON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM The US Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded the City of Bradenton $447,763 in Entitlement Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to meet the housing and community development needs of low- and moderate-income persons for the 2026-27 program year. The City of Bradenton invites public comment on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 2026-2027 funding recommendations during a 30-day comment period from April 5 through May 5, 2026. A public hearing will be held during the City Council meeting on April 22, 2026, at 8:30 am in the Council Chamber at Bradenton City Hall, 101 Old Main St. Bradenton, FL 34205. Comments received will be included with the Plans. The 2026-30 CDBG Consolidated Plan and the 2026-27 Annual Action Plan will be adopted by the Bradenton City Council on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Bradenton City Council meeting at 8:30 am in the Council Chamber, Bradenton City Hall, 101 Old Main St. Bradenton, FL 34205. Once approved, the City of Bradenton CDBG 2026-30 Consolidated Plan and 2026-27 Annual Action Plan will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development by May 15, 2026, for final review and approval. 2026-2027 CDBG Projects Meals on Wheels – Senior Meals $27,923.00 This program will provide low-income seniors in the City of Bradenton with a nutritionally balanced hot meal. At $7.30 a meal, this grant will provide 3,825 meals to at least 30 low-income seniors. Turning Points- Project SMILE $21,900.00 This program will provide dental services and dental prosthetic costs for low-income City of Bradenton residents. They expect to serve at least 25 residents. Salvation Army- Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) Beds $17,341.45.00 This program will provide shelter to people who are homeless, with two beds at $65.00 per night. City of Bradenton Community Redevelopment Agency- 9th Street West Streetscape & Parking $39,002.38 This project will fund the cost of designing a streetscape and parking project in census tract 1.03, near LECOM Field. Bradenton Police Department – Code/Blight Enforcement Officer $127,043.57 The goal of this program is to improve neighborhoods through addressing blighted properties through the use of criminal and civil code. City of Bradenton Housing and Community Development – Affordable Housing Preservation $125,000.00 This program will provide housing rehabilitation assistance to correct code violations for low-income homeowners who do not have homeowners' insurance. City of Bradenton – Program Administration $89,552.60 The project will fund administration of the CDBG program.
