LEGAL NOTICE Notice of Public Hearing & Funding Availability Manatee County FY 2026 Annual Action Plan & Grant Application Workshop As a recipient of US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds, Manatee County is required to develop an Annual Action Plan to carry out projects that address the priority needs identified in the 2023-2027 Consolidated Plan. Manatee County anticipates receiving about $2.5 million from HUD for its Program Year 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan, primarily to serve low- to moderate-income households and other special populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, vulnerable children, senior citizens, and individuals living with disabilities. Manatee County residents, particularly public housing residents, public and private agencies, businesses, and other interested parties, are invited and encouraged to attend to voice their concerns and express their opinions on the community's priority needs. The topics to be discussed include affordable housing development and homeownership, healthy neighborhoods, health and human services, homeless shelter development and strategies to address homelessness, recreational opportunities, infrastructure improvements, planning, and public management. HUD funds will be used to support programs and projects identified in the County's 2023-2027 Consolidated Plan to address the community's priority needs. These funds can be used to support both County and non-profit programs and projects that address community needs. As such, attendance at these meetings or consultation with the County is highly recommended. The public hearing for the Annual Action Plan will be held in conjunction with the Grant Application Workshop for interested non-profit agencies serving Manatee County residents. Grant Application Workshop Manatee County will solicit CDBG, HOME, and ESG grant applications from non-profit organizations and County departments to assist in addressing the housing and community development needs of the County's low- and moderate-income residents. Special focus will be given to strategies to serve individuals and families living in homeless shelters and future projects to assist vulnerable Manatee County residents. A Grant Application Workshop will be held to give details and answer questions regarding the funding application. We ask that all parties wishing to apply for funding attend the Application Workshop. The funding application will be available through the Community & Veterans Services Department website from 8:00 a.m., Monday, March 2nd, 2026, until 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, March 31st, 2026.
