PUBLIC NOTICE Revised Notice of Intent to Apply for Federal Assistance All interested parties are hereby advised that the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners is preparing to apply to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for capital assistance grants under Section 5310 of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Act of 1991, as amended. The application is to provide funding to maintain the existing paratransit [Handy Bus] level of service. The application funding for capital assistance grants are provided through the FTA Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities/Section 5310 Grant Program. This application is for the purchase of three (3) 24' gasoline vehicles with wheelchair lifts (12 passenger seats: 10 ambulatory seats and 2 wheelchair positions) a total funding request of $595,197; and will be used for the provision of public transit services for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities within the Manatee County Transit Division's service area. A Public Hearing is tentatively scheduled at the Transit Fleet Facility Large Conference Room, located at 2411 Tallevast Road, Sarasota, Florida 34243, on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. The purpose of advising all interested parties is to ensure that continued or proposed services do not result in duplication of services provided by existing public or private transit or paratransit operators in the service area. This hearing will be conducted if and only if a written request for the hearing is received no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025.
