NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
VALLEY REGIONAL TRANSIT –
NAMPA SERVICE CUTS
PUBLIC HEARING AND
OPEN HOUSE
Proposed changes to Valley Regional Transit (VRT) service in Nampa. As provided by relevant statute, VRT provides public transportation services in Ada and Canyon County. Each year, the City of Nampa contributes funds for VRT fixed route, paratransit, demand response, and specialized services.
At their July 15 budget workshop, the Nampa City Council voted to cut all funding for VRT from the FY2027 budget. This cut would eliminate all public transit services in Nampa, including Route 40, Route 42, VRT On-Demand, VRT Late Night, and Access.
VRT has scheduled a public hearing to gather testimony regarding these service cuts, preceded by an open house for the public to review information. Details are as follows:
Tuesday, August 4, 2026
Happy Day Transit Center
(5907 Cleveland Blvd,
Caldwell, ID 83607)
3:30 p.m. – Open House
5:00 p.m. – Public Hearing
Members of the public are welcome to make comments at the public hearing, limiting comments to no more than three (3) minutes. Comments may also be submitted via online survey, mail, or email by midnight Friday, August 7, 2026, at:
