STATEMENT PROCESS FOR BASING OF F-16 FIGHTER SQUADRON AT GOWEN FIELD
The Department of the Air Force (DAF) is preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to evaluate the proposed transition of the 124th Fighter Wing (124 FW) at the Idaho Air National Guard (IDANG) Base, located at the Boise Air Terminal/Gowen Field (BOI) in Ada County, Boise, Idaho, from an A-10C Thunderbolt II mission to an F-16 Fighting Falcon mission. The 30-day scoping period allows the public opportunity to provide input on potential alternatives, in- formation on resources (such as pursuant to Section 106 of the National Histor- ic Preservation Act), and the analyses to be considered in the EIS preparation.
While comments will be accepted at any time during analysis preparation, to ensure they are considered in the Draft EIS, written comments are requested by March 15, 2026 and may be submitted via:
