Notice of Public Hearing City of Boise, Idaho Fee Increases NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance with State Code 63-1311A, the City of Boise will hold a public hearing to consider public comment on fee increases in the City Council Chambers City Hall, 150 North Capitol Boulevard, Boise, Idaho on February 3, 2026, at 6:00 PM. According to Section 63-1311A, public entities proposing to increase fees by more than five percent (5%) or proposing new fees are required to hold a public hearing to provide an opportunity for public comment. The proposed increases are for fingerprint-based criminal background checks required for business licensing. These proposed City fee increases are a result of recent State of Idaho fee increases to perform fingerprint-based criminal background checks, which became effective as of January 1, 2026. The increases will cover the cost of the service, with no additional revenue to the City of Boise. Fee changes are included below: Idaho fingerprint-based criminal background checks: $25.00 (previously $20.00) Nationwide fingerprint-based criminal background checks: $37.00 (previously $33.25) Written or oral comments about the proposed rates are welcome. Auxiliary aids or services for persons with disabilities are available upon 48 hours of advanced notice.
