BY THE COUNCIL CORLESS, HALLYBURTON, MORALES,
NASH, STEAD AND WILLITS.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING BOISE CITY CODE TITLE 9, CHAPTER 5, SECTION 50 BOISE CITY ELECTRICAL CODE, TO REMOVE ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER CIRCUIT REQUIREMENTS FOR RESIDENTIAL GARAGES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOISE CITY, IDAHO:
Section 1. That Title 9, Chapter 05, Section 50, Boise City Code, be, and the same is hereby amended as follows:
Repeal item F., and relabel item G. to F. as follows:
F. Residential garages, for the purposes of vehicle parking, constructed in combination with one- and two-family dwellings and townhouses in new construction, require at least one two hundred forty (240) volt, forty (40) ampere dedicated branch circuit terminating at a receptacle or electric vehicle supply equipment, to be provided that may be used for electric vehicle charging, located in close proximity to the parking spaces. The branch circuit shall be identified as "EV Ready" in the service panel or subpanel directory and the termination at the receptacle location shall be marked as "EV Ready". Only one vehicle garage per parcel requires an "EV Ready" receptacle or electrical vehicle supply equipment. Installation shall comply with applicable provisions of the National Electrical Code.
G. F. Commercial parking garages open to the elements shall be considered a damp location throughout.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication.
