View original file“NOTICE OF A TAX INCREASE AND A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED BUDGET AND PROPOSED TAX LEVIES FOR – JACKSON COUNTY The Jackson County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on a proposed ad valorem tax revenue increase for fiscal year 2027 and on its proposed budget and proposed tax levies for fiscal year 2027 on September 14, 2026 at 9 a.m. at Jackson County Board of Supervisors boardroom at 2915 Canty Street Pascagoula, MS 39567. The Jackson County Board of Supervisors is now operating with projected total budget revenue of $292,414,725. Of that amount, (53.32 percent) or $155,911,080 of such revenue is obtained through ad valorem taxes. For next fiscal year, the proposed budget has total projected revenue of $301,960,998. Of that amount, (57.73 percent) or $174,333,624 is proposed to be financed through a total ad valorem tax levy. For next fiscal year, the plan is to decrease your ad valorem tax millage rate by .02 mills from 118.82 mills to 118.80 mills. Even though millage decreased, the increase in values may mean that you will pay more in ad valorem taxes on your home, automobile tag, utilities, business fixtures and equipment and rental real property.
