NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT U. S. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS MISSISSIPPI VETERANS AFFAIRS PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW 150-BED STATE VETERANS HOME IN PEARL, MS The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is announcing the availability of a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the potential issuance of a State Veterans Home Grant to the Mississippi Veterans Affairs (MSVA) for the purpose of constructing and operating a 150-bed State Veteran Home on approximately 41.1 acres of vacant, previously undeveloped land located east of Highway 475 in Pearl, Rankin County, Mississippi. The Draft EA has been prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), its associated amendments, and VA's NEPA implementing regulations (38 CFR Part 26). VA intend to issue a "Finding of No Significant Impact" (FONSI) following a 30-day public comment period provided there are no substantive comments that warrant further evaluation.
