LEGAL NOTICE United States Department of the Navy Announces NOTICE OF COMPLETION Five-Year Review — Sites 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11 and Associated Off-base Areas Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport, Mississippi The United States Department of the Navy (Navy) in coordination with the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) has completed the Five-Year Review activities at Navy Environmental Restoration (ER) Program Sites 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11 and Associated Off-base Areas, Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) Gulfport, Mississippi. This Five-Year Review was performed by the Navy as part of the ER Program for the Department of the Navy, following United States Environmental Protection Agency guidelines under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act. The Navy conducted the Five-Year Review to evaluate whether previous response actions taken by the Navy to address site-related contaminants are protective of human health and the environment under current and intended future land uses. During this process, activities for the last five years on the above-listed sites were reviewed to determine whether the remedy selected is effective. The remedies at the ER Program sites remain protective of human health and the environment. The next Five-Year Review is scheduled for 2031. The Five-Year Review Report is available at the NCBC Gulfport Administrative Record, https://administrative-records.navfac.navy.mil/?MO2Q_TU3VG4KLKL, and at the NCBC Gulfport Information Repository, which is located in the Gulfport Public Library, 1708 25th Avenue, Gulfport, Mississippi. For more information about the Five-Year Review, or any environmental cleanup activities at NCBC Gulfport, please call Mr. Daron Tanko, the Installation Environmental Program Director, at 228-596-7760.
