IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF WASHINGTON FOR WHATCOM COUNTY DARBIE HALL, Plaintiff, vs. HENRY KEPPLER and J. DOE KEPPLER, husband and spouse and the marital community composed thereof; and, WILLIAM KEPPLER and J. DOE 2 KEPPLER, husband and spouse and the marital community composed thereof, WHATCOM COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT CAUSE NO. 26-2-00980-37 The State of Washington to: HENRY KEPPLER and J. DOE 1 KEPPLER; and to WILLIAM KEPPLER and J. DOE 2 KEPPLER. You are hereby summoned to appear within sixty days after the date of the first publication of this summons, to wit, within sixty days after the 8th day of August, 2026, and defend the above entitled action in the above entitled court, and answer the complaint of the plaintiff Darbie Hall, and serve a copy of your answer upon the undersigned attorneys for plaintiff Darbie Hall, Shepherd and Associates, at the office below stated; and in case of your failure so to do, judgment will be rendered against you according to the demand of the complaint, which has been filed with the clerk of said court. The object of this action is for a money judgment against defendants, for personal injury and property damages to Plaintiff suffered in an automobile crash that occurred on or about September 29, 2023, at approximately 4:57 p.m. On that date, defendant Henry Keppler was traveling northbound on Interstate 5, in the right lane of travel, in Whatcom County, Washington. Defendant Henry Keppler was traveling at a speed too fast for the heavy traffic conditions, failed to slow for traffic, lost control of his vehicle, and turned into the left lane, crashing into the Plaintiff Darbie Hall's vehicle. Through the doctrine(s) of Family Car and/or Negligent Entrustment, defendants William Keppler and J. Doe 2 Keppler, are vicariously liable for the negligence of their family member, defendant Henry Keppler, who caused the collision with plaintiff Darbie Hall. SHEPHERD and ASSOCIATES /s Heather C.
