Notice for Early Public Review of a Proposal to Support Activity in the 100-Year Floodplain To: All Interested Agencies, Groups, and Individuals This is to give notice that the Jackson County Airport Authority proposes to undertake the following: Trent Lott International Airport South Apron Expansion The Jackson County Airport Authority is requesting the use of U.S. Department of the Treasury Resources and Ecosystems Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities, and Revived Economies (RESTORE) Act funding for improvements to the Trent Lott International Airport South Apron and Taxiway. In deciding whether to fund the proposed project, U.S. Department of the Treasury is obligated to follow requirements set forth by Section 2(a)(4) of Executive Order 11988 for Floodplain Management. This Notice of Intent is being provided in fulfillment of the aforementioned Executive order. The project site is in the City of Moss Point, Jackson County, Mississippi. The Project is located at 8301 Saracennia Road, in Moss Point, Mississippi. The Trent Lott International Airport South Apron Expansion project site is approximately 6.12 acres and located within the 100-year floodplain (Zone AE) as shown on Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) Map Number 28059C0334G, effective March 16, 2009. Base flood elevation (BFE) is 13 feet above sea level. Measures would be taken during construction work to ensure that construction is performed in a manner that minimizes any negative impact to the floodplain. Members of the public are invited to submit comments on the proposed activity.
