GULFPORT SCHOOL DISTRICT NOTICE OF PROPOSED AD VALOREM TAX EFFORT The Gulfport School District will hold a public hearing on its proposed school district bud- get for fiscal year 2027 on July 6, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Gulfport School District Administration Offices at 2001 Pass Road, Gulfport, Mississippi. At this meet- ing a proposed ad valorem tax effort will be considered. The Gulfport School District is now operat- ing with projected total budget revenue of $89,362,998. Of that amount, 29.4 percent or $26,294,116. of such revenue is obtained through ad valorem taxes. For next fiscal year, the proposed budget has total projected rev- enue of $91,859,765. Of that amount, 30.4 percent or $27,954,903. is proposed to be fi- nanced through a total ad valorem tax levy. The decision to NOT increase the ad valorem tax millage rate for FY 2026-2027 above the current fiscal year’s ad valorem tax millage rate means you will not pay more in ad va- lorem taxes on your home, automobile tag, utilities, business fixtures, and equipment and rental real property, unless the assessed value of your property has increased for FY 2026-2027. Any citizen of the Gulfport School District is invited to attend this public hearing on the proposed ad valorem tax effort and will be al- lowed to speak for a reasonable amount of time and offer tangible evidence before any vote is taken.
