ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for General Construction of the Historic Schoolhouse Renovation, Phase 2 will be received by the City of Gautier, Mississippi until 11:00 AM on June 25, 2026, and said bids are to be opened and read aloud in the City Council's Meeting Room located in the Gautier City Hall, 3330 Highway 90, Gautier, MS 39553. Envelopes containing the bids must be sealed, addressed to "Leoqueita Reddix, Purchasing Agent" and designated as bids for the following item described, to wit: "Historic Schoolhouse Renovations, Phase 2" 1. If any envelope is not so marked, any bid contained therein will not be considered. 2. All bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to "Leoqueita Reddix, Purchasing Agent." If a bid is submitted by mail, the address of the City Clerk is Gautier City Hall, 3330 Highway 90, Gautier, MS 39553. 3. All bid envelopes should contain the bidder's name and mailing address, the name of the bid item, and Certificate of Responsibility Number on the face of the sealed envelope. 4. Scope of work. Phase 2 will weatherproof the exterior structure, secure all entrances, and give the exterior a fresh coat of paint. This work scope will include selective demolition, the replacement of all doors and windows (plywood currently covers the windows and some doors to prevent rain damage and any unauthorized access). This phase will also make necessary repairs to the exterior structure so that the lead paint can be remediated and the exterior structure painted. This will help show the community that progress is being made on the schoolhouse and that additional phases are forthcoming. 5. The BID DOCUMENTS, consisting of Information for Bidders, Drawings, Specifications and Addenda, may be examined at the locations listed below. 6. The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is GM&C, PLLC, 11 North Water Street, Suite 19290, Mobile, AL 36602, Attn: Doris Furr (251) 338-6840 doris.furr@gmcnetwork.com. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. 7. General Contractors may procure plans and specifications from the Architect upon payment of a deposit of Twenty dollars ($20.00) for a one time administrative fee for digital/file sharing access or One Hundred Fifty dollars ($150.00) (printed) per set. Contractors are encouraged to use the digital plans. Refunds will be issued for printed sets only issued by the Architect to each general contract bidder on the first two (2) sets issued submitting a bonafide bid, upon return of documents in good and reusable condition within ten (10) days of bid date. Additional sets for General Contractors, and sets for subs and vendors, may be obtained with the same deposit, which will be refunded as above, less cost of printing, reproduction, handling and distribution, which is estimated to be the same as the deposit amount. 8. Checks shall be made payable to "GM&C, PLLC" Bid documents will be mailed only upon receipt of deposit. No bid documents will distributed later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled opening of bids. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Architect will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. 9. For the list of plan holders on this project visit www.gmcnetwork.com and select the project bids tab. 10. The OWNER reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any and all bids. 11. Each BID must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check or cashier's check for an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid. 12. An executed Non-Collusion Affidavit will be required to accompany the bid. 13. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond, a 100% Labor and Payment Bond, guaranteeing faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the contract. 14. All applicable laws, ordinances, and the rules and regulations of all authorities having jurisdiction over construction of the project shall apply to the contract throughout. 15. Each BIDDER must complete and submit with Bid, a current valid Certificate of Responsibility by the Mississippi State Board of Contractors and must show Certificate Number on the face of the sealed proposal envelope. Out-of-the-State bidders must have a similar certificate issued by a similar board of another state which recognizes certificates issued by the Mississippi State Board of Contractors prior to submitting the bid. 16. Bidders must include with their bid; Standard Questionnaire, Financial Statement and other documents as required by Mississippi Law, or under the terms of the Contract Documents. 17. A PRE-BID MEETING is scheduled on June 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the City Council's Meeting Room, located in the Gautier City Hall, 3330 Highway 90, Gautier, MS. Attendance is strongly encouraged.
