PUBLIC NOTICE - Community Planning Meeting for CDBG-DR Disaster Recovery Activities

The City of Moss Point, the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, and the Stennis Institute of Government at Mississippi State University invite you to attend a discussion regarding future development and economic revitalization in Moss Point.
The purpose of this public meeting is to gather public input on unmet recovery needs, proposed programs, and priorities for long-term disaster recovery related to damages from straight-line winds, severe storms, and tornadoes that occurred during June of 2023. This meeting is held in accordance with the HUD CDBG-DR Universal Notice and the Federal Register Notice FR-6512-N-01 (90 FR 4759, January 16, 2025), which establishes requirements for public engagement, transparency, and Plan development.
In accordance with HUD CDBG-DR Universal Notice, meaningful access will be provided to all residents, including individuals with disabilities, individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP), and members of protected classes. Individuals who require auxiliary aids, sign-language interpretation, or other accommodation should contact Judith Phillips, Project Manager for the Stennis Institute, at 662-418-6821 or jgp1@sig.msstate.edu. Requests should be made at least 72 hours in advance.
Residents are encouraged to provide comments during the meeting or by submitting written comments through email (jgp1@sig.msstate.edu) or telephone (662-418-6821). All comments received will be considered in the development of the CDBG-DR Recovery Plan, as required by FR-6512-N-01 and the CDBG-DR Universal Notice.
