ORDINANCE NO. 07-2026 CITY OF PASCAGOULA, MISSISSIPPI AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PASCAGOULA, MISSISSIPPI AMENDING CHAPTER 86, ARTICLE II, SECTION 86-47(c) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES REGARDING PRORATING UTILITY BILLS WHEREAS, Mississippi Code Section 21-27-23 authorizes municipalities to establish rates for the provision of utility services; and WHEREAS, Chapter 86, Article II, Section 86-47(c) of the City of Pascagoula's Code of Ordinances addresses the proration of utility bills; and WHEREAS, the City of Pascagoula desires to amend its ordinance to allow for the proration of initial and final utility bills; and WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Pascagoula hereby amends Chapter 86, Article II, Section 86-47(c). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCAGOULA AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Chapter 86, Article II, Section 86-47(c) is hereby repealed and replaced with the following: (c) Initial and final bills. Initial and final bills for utility services shall be prorated. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
