PUBLIC NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSISTENCY DETERMINATION UNDER THE COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT ACT The Department of the Navy has filed notice of a proposed project which requires review by the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources to ensure compliance with the state's approved Coastal Program under the Coastal Zone Management Act. The applicant is proposing to use the Port of Pascagoula as a destination in an action that would move inactive ships from berthing ports to dismantling facilities – or between Navy facilities – to manage inventory while meeting Navy operational needs.
