INVITATION FOR BIDS FOREST PRODUCTS FOR SALE ON JACKSON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT LANDS Sealed bids will be received by the Jackson County School District, 4700 Colonel Vickery Rd., Vancleave, MS., 39565, up to and no later than 3:30 P.M. on March 9th, 2026 for the purchase on a pay-as-cut-buyer-select thinning operation of a +187 acre pine plantation which includes select thinning as specified in the "Forest Products Sale Contract" on Section 16 of Township 4 South, Range 8 West, Jackson County, Mississippi. The stand is 34 years old, has an average merchantable height of 38 feet and an average DBH of 10.4 inches. At present the average basal area is 116 square feet per acre. Trees designated for sale are those, pulpwood, chip-n-saw, & sawtimber size trees not needed to form an average basal area of 65 square feet per acre. Such leave basal area shall consist of evenly distributed trees of saw-log or potential saw-log quality trees. Bids will be on a per ton basis for the following products: pine pulpwood, chip-n-saw, & sawtimber. Each bidder is expected to make their own cruise and to bid accordingly. The timber may be inspected at any time. Bidders must submit bids to the Jackson County School Board.
