CITY OF PASCAGOULA, MISSISSIPPI
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PASCAGOULA, MISSISSIPPI AMENDING CHAPTER 86, ARTICLE II, SECTION 86-49, SUBSECTION (d) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES REGARDING SERVICE AND CONNECTION CHARGES FOR TRIPS
WHEREAS, Chapter 86, Article II, Section 86-49, Subsection (d) of the City of Pascagoula's Code of Ordinances establishes certain trip charges; and
WHEREAS, certain revisions to Chapter 86, Article II, Section 86-49, Subsection (d) are needed to clarify the City's policies for such trip charges; and
WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Pascagoula hereby amends Chapter 86, Article II, Section 86-49, Subsection (d) of the City of Pascagoula's Code of Ordinances.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCAGOULA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 86, Article II, Section 86-49, Subsection (d) is hereby amended to read as follows:
(d) Trip charges. As set forth below, there shall be a trip charge incurred for each service call. The charge shall apply to each trip made by a utility employee.
(1) The following is a non-exhaustive list of actions requiring payment of trip charges:
Turn off water for customer repair;
Reread meter (waived if billed reading was incorrect);
Sewer backup (waived if backup due to city system);
Turn on water (except following lock off for nonpayment); and
Locate water line.
Other actions requiring trips of utility department employees may require payment of trip charges as determined by the utility department.
(2) The following trip charges shall apply for the each service call as outlined above:
Trip charge during normal work hours inside city limits: $50.00
Trip charge during normal work hours outside city limits: $75.00
Trip charge to turn utilities on or off where the request is made at or after 4:30 p.m.: $100.00
All other trip charges during nights, weekends, holidays, or on overtime: $100.00
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
SECTION 3. Except for Sections 2 and 3, this Ordinance shall be codified.
The motion to approve and adopt the foregoing Ordinance was made by Councilman Fornett and seconded by Councilman Blythe, and the following vote was recorded:
