WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE The Whatcom County Council will hold a public hearing, consider adopting, and may amend the following at its 6 p.m. meeting on August 11, 2026, or at a later date: ORDINANCE DECLARING PUBLIC NECESSITY FOR AND THE AUTHORIZATION TO ACQUIRE CERTAIN PROPERTY RIGHTS BY EMINENT DOMAIN FOR THE BIRCH BAY LYNDEN ROAD AND BLAINE ROAD INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT (AB2026-518): This ordinance declares public necessity for certain property rights needed to construct the Birch Bay Lynden Road and Blaine Road Intersection Improvements Project and authorizes the commencement of legal action in Whatcom County Superior Court to acquire, by eminent domain, these certain real property interests. The subject property is identified as portions of Whatcom County Tax Parcel No. 4001290135170000. This ordinance constitutes the final action authorizing legal proceedings. Ordinance introduced July 14, 2026.
