NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A MAJOR VARIANCE
Notice is hereby given that on 6/3/2026, Christopher MacGregor & Paulette le Roux-MacGregor applied for a Major Variance under case number VAR-MAJ2026-00004 to construct a single-family residence with an uncovered deck and driveway using the Major Variance for critical areas process pursuant to WCC 22.05.024 and WCC 16.16.273. A total of approximately 1,620 square feet of new impervious surface is proposed. The project requires a major variance due to unavoidable impacts to wetland buffers per WCC Title 16. The subject parcel is approximately 0.20 acres in size and is proposed to be served by Point Roberts Water Association and on-site septic, with access proposed from Greenwood Dr. The application was determined complete on 6/30/2026, indicating that all submittal requirements were met. The project site is located at 448 Greenwood Dr, within Section 02, Township 40N, Range 3W of W.M.; Assessor's Parcel No: 4053022582010000. The application will be reviewed under the Official Whatcom County Zoning and Critical Areas Ordinances, as well as reviews by Whatcom County Planning and Development Services (Fire Marshal's Office, Natural Resources and Planning), Public Works Engineering and Health Department. Any person may submit written comments to Planning & Development Services at the above address or at PDS@co.whatcom.wa.us within 14 days of the publication of this notice. Written comments must be received by July 28, 2026. Any person has the right to receive notice of and participate in any hearings, request a copy of the decision once made, and to appeal a decision when allowed by law. In addition, any person wishing to receive personal notice of any decisions or hearings must notify the department to receive such notice.
