WHATCOM COUNTY NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AN ADMINISTRATIVE USE PERMIT
Notice is hereby given that on MARCH 19, 2026, JAMES & CARRIE RASMUSSEN applied for a ADMINISTRATIVE USE PERMIT (ADM) under case number ADM2026-00006 to permit the construction of a 1,668 square foot attached Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) as part of a larger project to redevelop the property located at 348 West Wiser Lake Road. The existing single-family residence on the property will be demolished and replaced with a new single-family residence as part of the project, with both new homes being served by the Pole Road Water Association's public water system, and a shared septic system. Additionally, an existing driveway will be extended to serve both residences. The application was determined complete on April 9, 2026, indicating that all submittal requirements were met. The subject property is located at 348 West Wiser Lake Road outside of Ferndale, Washington, within Section 36, Township 40 North, Range 02 East of W.M. Assessor's parcel number: 400235-215080. The application will be reviewed under the Official Whatcom County Zoning and Critical Areas Ordinances, as well as reviews by Whatcom County Planning and Development Services (Fire Marshal's Office, Natural Resources and Planning), Public Works Engineering and Health Department.
