THE WHATCOM COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING ON THURSDAY, APRIL 9, 2026, at 6:00 P.M. REGARDING:
Proposed amendments to Whatcom County Code Title 20 (Zoning) relating to housing, residential parking, essential public facilities, solid waste, limited areas of more intensive rural development, and buffer standards within the Heavy Impact Industrial zoning district relating to Cherry Point Urban Growth Area. Every 10 years, as part of the periodic update, RCW 36.70A.130(1) requires Whatcom County to take legislative action to review and, if needed, revise its comprehensive plan and development regulations to comply with the requirements of the Growth Management Act, codified in RCW 36.70A. These amendments to Title 20 are part of the periodic review under the Growth Management Act.
