Notice to Voters who own property in the Following Special Districts:
Butler Ditch District Consolidated Drainage Improvement District 1 Consolidated Drainage Improvement District 20 Consolidated Drainage Improvement District 21 Consolidated Drainage Improvement District 31 Deming Diking District 2 Diking District 1 Diking District 3 Diking District 4 Drainage District 2 Drainage District 3 Drainage Improvement District 5 Drainage Improvement District 6 Drainage Improvement District 7 Drainage Improvement District 15 Macaulay Creek Flood Control
Stacy Henthorn, Whatcom County Auditor, announces that the official candidate filing week for diking, drainage, ditch, drainage improvement, consolidated drainage improvement, and flood control districts in Whatcom County will begin at 8:00 am on December 8, 2025 and continue until 5:00 pm on December 12, 2025.
To run for office candidates must be registered voters in the State of Washington and own property within the district. Candidates must file a Declaration of Candidacy either by mail, email, fax, or in person at the Whatcom County Auditor’s Office, 311 Grand Ave., Suite 103, Bellingham. Declarations of Candidacy must be received no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, December 12. Late submissions will be rejected per RCW 29A.24.081.
