NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AN ADMINISTRATIVE USE PERMIT
Notice is hereby given that on October 16, 2025, Kayla Kuehn applied for an Administrative Use Permit under case number ADM2025-00027 to authorize the construction of a new 3,008.52 square foot residential garage containing storage space, a 341.48 square foot game room, and a 943.85 square foot secondary residence in the form of a Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit (DADU) pursuant to WCC 20.36.132. The property is currently vacant and is approximately 4.67 acres in size. The applicant is proposing to construct a single-family residence (SFR) in the future. The proposed DADU will be served by a private well, on-site septic system, and will access Olson Rd using a shared driveway with the future SFR. The application was determined complete on November 13, 2025, indicating that all submittal requirements were met. The subject property is located at 5970 Olson Rd within Section 24, Township 39N, Range 01E of W.M. Assessor's parcel number: 3901240323850000. The application will be reviewed under the Official Whatcom County Zoning and Critical Areas Ordinances, as well as reviews by Whatcom County Planning and Development Services (Fire Marshal's Office, Natural Resources and Planning), Public Works Engineering and Health Department. Written comments must be received by December 9, 2025.
