SECTION 00 11 00 – ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID Western Washington University is seeking proposals for the following project: BI 350 Lab Renovation, PW841, a project involving a renovation of a single lab in the Biology Building (BI 350) on WWU's Main Campus to create an updated lab space and additional office space. Scope of work includes selective demolition and adding non-load bearing walls, new ceiling, new flooring, casework, as well as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC improvements. *The Architect/Engineer's estimate is: $375,000. MWBE: Western Washington University is committed to providing the maximum practicable opportunity for participation by minority and women-owned businesses (MWBE) in public works. Voluntary goals for this project have been established as 10% MBE and 6% WBE. Participation may be either on a direct basis in response to this invitation to bid, or as a subcontractor or supplier. However, no minimum level of MWBE participation shall be required as a condition for receiving an award and bids will not be rejected or considered non-responsive if they do not include MWBE participation. Bidders may contact OMWBE at (360) 753-9693 to obtain information on certified firms. Voluntary Prebid Conference will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 30th, 2025 in room PP309 at the WWU's Physical Pant (915 26th Street, Bellingham WA 98225). The meeting agenda will cover design drawings, specifications, capital budget items, and general requirements to perform work at WWU. Following the meeting, the PM-Architect will host a site walk of the project. Major subcontractors are encouraged to attend. This meeting should be attended by a representative qualified to comprehend the contract documents for this project, and the probable or possible difficulties and opportunities this project represents. Parking permits are required to park on campus and are obtainable through online parking portal at Home | Transportation Services | Western Washington University (wwu.edu) (https://transportation.wwu.edu/), ParkMobile mobile app and campus pay stations. Bid Submittal: Bids must be submitted by 2:00 pm, Monday, November 17th, 2025. A virtual bid opening meeting will be held via Microsoft Teams at that time; call-in number (206) 800-4437, conference ID 184 853 879#. To receive invite via email, contact the project manager by email (see iii. below). Potential bidders must access Trimble Unity Construct's online bidding portal (rebranded from e-Builder) for all bid documents, potential bidder questions and addenda. Access to Trimble Unity Construct's bid portal for this specific project can be found at Bidding | Facilities Development & Operations | Western Washington University (wwu.edu) (https://fdo.wwu.edu/bidding) on the bidding page by selecting the PW841_BI350 Lab Renovation button. Potential bidders will need to submit bids electronically through the Trimble Unity Construct online bidding portal (link referenced above), in lieu of the section 00 41 00 - Bid Form. Only Bids submitted through Trimble Unity Construct's Bid Portal will be accepted. Potential bidders are highly encouraged to prepare and submit bid submittals prior to the deadline to reduce the likelihood of any last-minute technical issues. i. Please Note: The Trimble Unity Construct bidding portal is a separate platform, and you will need to create a new account the first time you use it, even if you already have a Trimble Unity Construct login. ii.
