Notice of Public Hearing Notice is hereby given that the Village of Sauget will conduct a public hearing at Village Hall located at 2897 Falling Springs Road, Sauget, IL 62206 on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 9:30 AM, local time. The purpose of the public hearing is to provide an opportunity for public input regarding the proposed American Bottoms Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility Phase 2 Improvements. The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) has issued a Project Summary and Preliminary Environmental Impacts Determination for the Village of Sauget, Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements, Phase 2. The project consists of modifications at the American Bottoms Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. The construction consists of a new dewatering system and facility including a new process building, covered storage area, dewatering equipment, polymer system, conveyors and ancillary equipment. The project will be funded through a loan from the IEPA, and the project cost is estimated to be $14,850,000. The Notice of Intent to Issue a Preliminary Environmental Impacts Determination and the Project Plan are available for public viewing at Village Hall located at 2897 Falling Springs Road, East St. Louis 62206. Persons wishing to comment on the plan can view them during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., M-F) between now and the end of the public comment period, which is March 22, 2026. During this comment period, written comments may be provided to the Village Clerk at 2897 Falling Springs Road, East St. Louis 62206. Written comments may also be directed to Frederick Blanford with the IEPA, IFAS Section, P.O. Box 19276, Springfield, IL 62794-9276.
