Public Information Review and Comment Meeting Scheduled by MCT for proposed shared use path in Venice, IL.
Madison County Transit (MCT) will hold a Public Information Meeting concerning a proposed shared use path in Venice, IL, located along Broadway, Klein Ave., and through Lee Park. A presentation on the project will be given at 3:45 PM, prior to the Venice City Council meeting at the Tyronne Echols Senior Center (1302 Klein Avenue, Venice, IL) on Monday, February 23, 2026. Immediately following the council meeting, there will be an opportunity to discuss the project and provide comments.
All interested in this project are invited to attend this Public Information Meeting where MCT and their consulting engineering firm, Oates Associates, will be available for questions. Preliminary drawings, maps, and aerial photography will be provided. Written comments will be received at the time of the meeting or at the office of Oates Associates (100 Lanter Court, Suite 1, Collinsville, IL 62234) for a period of ten days following the meeting.
This is a federally funded project, and the meeting is being held in compliance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements and the Illinois Department of Transportation's public involvement policy.
