ILLINOIS POLLUTION CONTROL BOARD NOTICE OF HEARING The Illinois Pollution Control Board gives notice of public hearing regarding rule changes proposed by the Board on January 8, 2026: National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), USEPA Amendments (July 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024), National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), USEPA Amendments (January 1, 2025, through June 30, 2025), National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), USEPA Amendments (July 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025), R25-15 cons. R26-7, R26-15. Interested persons are invited to attend the hearing or to submit written comments. The docket would update the Illinois ambient air quality requirements to correspond with amendments to the federal National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQSs) that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) adopted during the second half of 2024 and the first half of 2025. The proposed amendment it will ultimately result in submission to the USEPA of an amendment to the state implementation plan (SIP). Section 110(a)(2) of the Federal Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. §7410(a)(2) (2024)) requires reasonable notice and hearing before a state undertakes an amendment to the SIP. Interested persons are invited to attend the hearings or to submit written comments. The Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 11:10 a.m. at the Illinois Room, 555 West Monroe Street, Chicago, Illinois and the Board Conference Room 1.508, 2520 West Iles Avenue, Springfield, Illinois. The hearing is subject to cancellation without notice and may be confirmed by calling the Office of the Clerk at 312/814-3461.
