NOTICE OF PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASE FOR WATERLOO COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 5 1. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for Waterloo Community Unit School District No. 5 for 2025 will be held on December 15, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Waterloo High School, 505 East Bulldog Boulevard, Waterloo, Illinois. Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing to present testimony to the taxing district may contact Brian D. Charron, Superintendent of Waterloo Community Unit School District No. 5, at 618-939-3453. 2. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2024 were $24,250,325. The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2025 are $26,438,060. This represents 9.02% increase over the previous year. 3. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2024 were $4,859,082. The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2025 are $5,110,098. This represents 5.17% increase over the previous year. 4. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2024 were $29,109,407. The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2025 are $31,548,158. This represents 8.38% increase over the previous year.
