2026 Pierce Conservation District Board Election
The Pierce Conservation District will conduct a "by mail" and "in-person voting" election on February 27, 2026 for a position on its Board of Supervisors. District Supervisors serve in volunteer, unpaid positions for three-year terms. Their primary duties are to provide policy, fiscal and administrative oversight for the District, and to represent the District in its relationships with other entities. Election law is detailed in Chapter 89.08 RCW, along with the responsibilities for District Supervisors and Conservation Districts in general.
Elected Position: The person in this position serves on the Pierce Conservation District Board from June 2026 until May 2029. The position is currently held by Julie Ammann. Interested candidates must be registered Pierce County voters who reside within the District boundaries, which include Unincorporated Pierce County, City of Bonney Lake, City of Dupont, City of Edgewood, City of Fircrest, City of Gig Harbor, City of Lakewood, City of Milton, City of Orting, City of Puyallup, Town of Steilacoom, City of Sumner, City of Tacoma, and City of University Place. The filing deadline for candidates to file their candidate required and optional information is January 09, 2026 by 4:30 pm. Voting in Conservation District "By-Mail" Elections: The Pierce Conservation District uses the "by-mail" election process. There are two methods for participating in the District election;
In-Person: You may appear in person at the Pierce Conservation District Office, 308 W Stewart Ave, Puyallup, WA 98371, between 4 PM and 8 PM on February 27, 2026, and vote in person. You will be required to show identification to verify that you are a qualified voter. To be considered qualified you must be a registered voter who resides within District boundaries.
By Mail: The last day and time that voters can request ballots from the District is January 28, 2026 by 4:30 PM. Ballots can be requested by visiting www.piercecd.org. Ballots returned by mail must be post-marked no later than February 27, 2026, and be received no later than March 06, 2026 in order to be counted. Ballots received after March 06, 2026 will not be counted. Ballots returned by other means must be returned and placed in the locked ballot box at 308 West Stewart Avenue in Puyallup, WA no later than 8 PM on Election Day, February 27, 2026. To have your ballot counted you must be a registered voter who resides within District boundaries.
A conservation district supervisor is a public official who serves without compensation and who sets policy and direction for the conservation district.
