The City of Lakewood has received a Shoreline Variance and SSDP applications, to develop a 0.2 acre Westlake Ave street end into a public shoreline access park with parking (including one ADA stall), a paved accessible path to the water, picnic and seating areas, and a boulder retaining wall near the shoreline. It also includes shoreline improvements and removal of an encroaching fence footing extending about 8 feet into the right-of-way. The project site is located between 27 Westlake Avenue Southwest (APN: 9460000174) and 30 Westlake Avenue Southwest (APN: 9460000150).
