ANNOUNCEMENT OF LOCATION AND DESIGN CONCEPT ACCEPTANCE DeSoto Bridge Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study From State Road (S.R.) 64 to Haben Boulevard Manatee County, FL Financial Management # 442630-1-22-01 Efficient Transportation Decision Making (ETDM) #14510 On September 18, 2025, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by FHWA and FDOT, granted Location and Design Concept Acceptance for the DeSoto Bridge from S.R. 64 to Haben Boulevard. The proposed improvements include replacing the bridge with an in-kind replacement. The new bridge includes four lanes (two lanes in each direction), a concrete barrier separating traffic, inside and outside shoulders, and a barrier separated shared-use path on both sides of the bridge.
