NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
A public hearing will be held by the City Commission of the City of Miami, Florida on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 9:00 A.M. at City Hall, located at 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida, 33133 for the purpose of granting the following:
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, PURSUANT TO SECTION 29-D OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT ("AGREEMENT"), IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY
ATTORNEY, BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") AND MIAMI YACHT CLUB, INC., A NON-PROFIT FLORIDA CORPORATION ("LESSEE"), FOR USE OF
A PORTION OF CITY-OWNED WATERFRONT PROPERTY ON WATSON
ISLAND, LOCATED AT 1001 MACARTHUR CAUSEWAY, MIAMI, FLORIDA
("PROPERTY"), FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPERATING A YACHT CLUB, FOR AN ANNUAL BASE RENT OF ONE HUNDRED FORTY FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($144,000.00), AND PERCENTAGE RENT EQUAL TO TEN (10%) OF GROSS SALES, FOR AN INITIAL TERM OF THIRTY YEARS, WITH TWO (2) OPTIONS TO RENEW OF FIVE (5) YEARS EACH, WITH A TWO AND HALF PERCENT (2.5%) INCREASE IN THE ANNUAL RENT, WITH TERMS
AND CONDITIONS AS MORE SPECIFICALLY SET FORTH IN SAID LEASE
AGREEMENT; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING AMENDMENTS AND MODIFICATIONS TO SAID AGREEMENT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, AS MAY BE NECESSARY.
All interested persons are invited to appear at the meeting and may be
heard with respect to the proposed resolution. Should any person desire to
appeal any decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter to be
considered at this meeting, that person shall ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made including all testimony and evidence upon which any appeal may be based (F.S. 286.0105).
Pursuant to Miami City Code Section 2-33(o), whenever a scheduled City
Commission meeting is cancelled or is not held due to a lack of a quorum or other emergency, a special City Commission meeting will be automatically scheduled for the Tuesday immediately following the cancelled meeting. In the event of one of the aforementioned circumstances, the special meeting would be held on November 25, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the City Commission chambers located at Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida 33133. All of the scheduled agenda items from that cancelled meeting shall automatically be scheduled as an agenda item at the special City Commission meeting.
The City Clerk shall notify the public of the special meeting that is to take place by placing a notice of the special City Commission meeting at the entrance
of City Hall and the City's main administrative building, placing a notice on
the City's website, and, if feasible, placing an ad in a newspaper of general
circulation before the special meeting on the immediately following Tuesday. There shall be no additional notice by publication required for any such
scheduled agenda item that is moved to the special City Commission meeting.
