SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS Public Notice of Filing The Lee's Summit R-7 School District will accept Declarations of Candidacy for any person interested in running for a position on the School Board in the April 7, 2026 election. Persons interested may file with the Secretary of the Board of Education at the school district's offices located at 301 NE Tudor Road, Lee's Summit, Missouri 64086. Filing will begin on December 9, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. and will continue during the district's regular business hours, which are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Except for the first and last day of filing, filing will not occur on days that the school district's central offices are closed due to inclement weather. Filing will also not occur on the days during winter break when the school district's central offices are closed: December 23-29, 2025. Required documents must be checked and the declaration of candidacy, including signature, must be completed by 5:00 p.m. Placement on Ballot: Ballot placement will be determined by lottery on the first day of filing. Candidates who filed declarations at or before 4:30 p.m. on the opening filing day shall be listed on the ballot in ascending order of the numbers so drawn. Candidates filing after the first day shall be listed below those who filed declarations of candidacy on the first day of filing, in the order they file their declarations.
