Request for Qualifications (RFQ 26005C) Design-Build Services for the IDEA High School Replacement project. Instructions to Respondents Project Information: The Tacoma School District is requesting qualifications from firms interested in providing Design-Build (DB) services related to the IDEA High School Replacement project. The alternate Public Works contracting procedure authorized in RCW 39.10.300 through 39.10.330 will be utilized for this project. This project will utilize the Progressive Design-Build (PDB) delivery method. Firms with previous PDB experience, or experience using a similar alternative construction delivery format, are encouraged to submit. During the project, the Design-Builder will receive direction from designated representatives in the Tacoma Public Schools (TPS) Planning & Construction Office and will work collaboratively as a member of a team to achieve project objectives. In addition to staff from the TPS Planning and Construction Office, the TPS team may include representatives from other District departments, the Design/Build Consultant (Parametrix) and other TPS consultants. This project will be to design and construct a new facility to replace The TPS Industrial Design, Engineering and Arts High School (IDEA HS). The new facility will be constructed on the former site of Gault Middle School in the McKinley Neighborhood of Tacoma. The site is approximately 3.9 acres and is located at 1115 East Division Lane, Tacoma WA. The new IDEA HS facility will be designed to house approximately 400 students and is anticipated to be approximately 40,000sf. The preliminary, GMP budget for design and construction of the Project is $31,200,000 This project is funded under a capital bond that was passed by voters in February of 2024. A pre-submittal meeting and walkthrough will be held November 10, 2025 starting at 3:30pm (PST) at Blix Elementary School, 1302 E 38th St., Tacoma WA. Please check in at the office. The school is currently occupied and operational and, due to security protocol, may not be visited prior to, or after, the scheduled pre-submittal meeting. Following the pre-submittal meeting, at the same location from approximately 4:00-5:30pm (PST), the District will sponsor a construction trades Networking Event to familiarize potential contractors, subcontractors and suppliers with the District's Community Inclusion Commitment and allow them an opportunity to meet, network and market themselves to one another. Instructions to Applicants: Interested Parties may download the RFQ beginning October 28, 2025 from the District's Bonfire Bid Management website at: https://tacoma.bonfirehub.com/portal/?tab=openOpportunities . When registering on the Bonfire website, follow instructions and use at least one or any combination of the following classification/commodity codes, as applicable for your firm: 906-10, 958-26, 906-38, 925-44, 909-21, 909-22, 909-24, 909-27, 909-31 and/or 912-38. Responses to the Request for Qualifications for Design Build Services (RFQ 26005C) will be received by the Tacoma School District No. 10, Purchasing Department until 2:00pm on November 25, 2025.
