Legal Notice Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Harris Township shall conduct a public hearing at 7:00 PM on November 10, 2025, to receive public comment and consider action on Proposed Ordinance 381 entitled, "AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF HARRIS, CENTRE COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA AMENDING CHAPTER 12, ENTITLED "ZONING" TO DEFINE AND PERMIT SHORT-TERM RENTALS AND ESTABLISH RELATED USE REGULATIONS". The meeting will be held at the Township Meeting Room, 224 East Main Street, Boalsburg. All interested parties are invited to participate in the hearing. A summary of the ordinance is as follows. Section 1 amends Chapter 12, Article II, Section 12-2.4A by adding use regulations for short term rentals, requiring that the use be owner-occupied, and determining that existing non-owner-occupied short term rentals operating as of the date of adoption shall be determined to be a nonconforming use, the transference of which is subject to the Harris Township short-term rental ordinance. Sections 2 through 10 amends the use charts for the Agricultural, Natural Areas, Agricultural Residential, Rural Centers, Single-Family Residential, Two-Family Residential, Multifamily Residential, Village, and Village Commercial zoning districts to permit short-term rentals as an accessory use. Section 11 amends Chapter 12, Article 11, Section 12-11.2 to include a definition for Short-Term Rental. The ordinance contains a severability clause, repeals prior inconsistent ordinances or parts of ordinances, and contains an effective date.
