The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host an Alternatives Public Meeting for the S.R. 953/NW 42nd Avenue, S.R. 948/NW 36th Street, and S.R. 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road (Iron Triangle) PD&E Study. The project traverses through the City of Miami Springs, City of Hialeah, City of Miami and Unincorporated Miami-Dade County. The objective of this study is to address operational deficiencies and improve capacity, relieve existing congestion and accommodate projected transportation demand within the Iron Triangle interchange area, specifically as it relates to S.R. 953/NW 42 Avenue/LeJeune Road, S.R. 948/NW 36 Street, and S.R. 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road.
The meeting will be held simultaneously, both in-person and virtually, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The same materials will be displayed and presented both in-person and virtually and will also be posted by November 6, 2025 on the project webpage at https://www.fdotmiamidade.com/ SR953_SR948_and_SR25.html.

The Alternatives Public Meeting will consist of a formal presentation followed by an open discussion. Questions will be responded to as time permits, in the order received. If questions are not responded to during the meeting, a response will be provided in writing. Persons wishing to submit statements, in place of or in addition to oral statements, may do so at the meeting or by sending them to the Community Outreach Specialist, Dayana Sanjurjo, at (786) 239-8862 or via email at Dayana.Sanjurjo@dot.state.fl.us. All statements postmarked on or before November 23, 2025, will become part of the meeting record.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
