STATE HOUSING INITIATIVES PARTNERSHIP (SHIP) PROGRAM FUNDS TO ASSIST LOW TO MODERATE INCOME RESIDENTS
Miami-Dade County Housing and Community Development (HCD) has an estimated $7,734,387 of FY2025-2026 SHIP funds, to assist low- and moderate-income residents with various housing needs. The amount of funding listed above is an estimate and is subject to change. FY 2025-2026 Program funds will be used for the following activities:
• Housing Rental Assistance Programs include Rapid Re-Housing Assistance, Tenant Based Rental Assistance and Security and Utility Deposits. Renters wishing to apply for FY 2025-2026 SHIP Program funds rental assistance may contact the Community Planning and Outreach Division at CommunityDevelopmentServices@miamidade.gov
• Housing Development Assistance Programs include funding for new construction and rehabilitation of Multi-family Rental Developments. Developers and community organizations wishing to apply for FY 2025- 2026 SHIP Program funds for housing development may contact Community Development Division at CommunityDevelopmentServices@miamidade.gov
• Community Land Trust (CLT) Homeownership programs include funding for construction loan financing to CLT entities for the development or rehabilitation of new or existing housing stock. To provide purchase assistance to buyers of newly constructed or existing CLT homes. CLT organizations wishing to apply for FY 2025-2026 SHIP Program funds for CLT Homeownership may contact Community Development Division at CommunityDevelopmentServices@miamidade.gov
• Homeowner Assistance Programs include Owner Occupied Rehabilitation, Owner Occupied Demolition/Reconstruction, Purchase Assistance, Foreclosure Prevention, Emergency Repair Assistance, and Insurance Assistance. Homeowners wishing to apply for FY 2025-2026 SHIP Program funds for homeowner assistance may contact Mr. Shawn Topps, in the Loan Servicing Division at (786) 469-2209 or inquire at Shawn.Topps@miamidade.gov
• Homebuyer Education and Counseling includes contracted services provided by HUD certified counseling agencies. Developers and community organizations wishing to apply for FY 2025-2026 SHIP Program funds for housing development or homebuyer education and counseling services may contact the Community Planning and Outreach Division at CommunityDevelopmentServices@miamidade.gov
• Disaster Response Assistance Programs include homeowner assistance during a federal or state declared emergency. Public notice and additional information will be provided on the HCD website only when applicable.
HCD will begin receiving applications for SHIP funded program activities as listed below:
Applications for Housing and Homeownership Assistance will continue to remain open until funding is depleted.
Applications for Homebuyer Education and Counseling is estimated to be released in January 2026.
