Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Harris Township shall conduct a public hearing at 7:00 PM on November 10, 2025, to receive public comment and consider action on Proposed Ordinance 379 entitled, "An Ordinance of the Township of Harris Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania Amending Chapter 11, entitled "Subdivision and Land Development" and Chapter 12, entitled "Zoning" to repeal the Corridor Overlay Zoning District standards and establish landscaping and screening requirements".   The meeting will be held at the Township Meeting Room, 224 East Main Street, Boalsburg. All interested parties are invited to participate in the hearing.  The proposed ordinance would repeal standards and requirements for properties located within the Corridor Overlay District, relocate some of these requirements to other chapters or sections, and establish comprehensive landscaping requirements. A summary of the ordinance is as follows. Section 1 amends Chapter 11, Article III, Section 11-3.1C to require the submission of a landscaping plan. Section 2 amends Chapter 11, Article IV, Section 11-4.1B to establish design requirements for nonresidential buildings. Section 3 amends Chapter 11, Article IV, Section 11-4.4B(3) to establish access requirements for properties directly abutting an arterial street. Sections 5 and 6 repeals landscaping requirements for Industrial Parks from Chapter 12, Article II, Section 12-2.4A(21)(d). Section 7 repeals buffer yard requirements from Chapter 12, Article II, Section 2.6K. Section 8 repeals Chapter 12, Article V, Section 12-5.4, Corridor Overlay District. Section 9 amends Chapter 12, Article V, Sections 5.5C and 5.5D, removing references to the Corridor Overlay District and repealing landscaping requirements for properties in the Village Commercial district. Section 10 amends Chapter 12, Article VII, Section 12-7.9C amends raised island requirements within parking lots. Section 11 repeals Chapter 12, Article VII, Section 12-7.10 and replaces said section with landscaping and screening regulations that apply to commercial and industrial land uses. Requirements would not apply to residential and agricultural uses. The section provides requirements for landscaping and screening, landscaping plans, and landscaping installation. Section 12 amends Chapter 12 by repealing attachment 1, a land use classification table.  The ordinance repeals prior inconsistent ordinances or parts of ordinances and contains an effective date. Copies of the proposed ordinance are available for inspection at the Harris Township Municipal Building, 224 East Main Street, Boalsburg, PA, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or by request.
