NOTICE OF VACANCIES ON THE CITY OF MIAMI AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVISORY COMMITTEE (AHAC) The City of Miami ("City") is seeking applications for vacancies for the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee ("AHAC"), in accordance with Chapter 2, Article XI, Division 8 of the City Code. Pursuant to Section 2-1103(d) of the City Code, no appointments to the City's AHAC shall be made until notice of the appointments are published in a newspaper of general circulation at least fifteen (15) days prior to making the appointments. The AHAC is comprised of ten (10) members representing different industries, and one (1) City Commissioner serving in an ex officio capacity, established pursuant to Section 420.9076 of the Florida Statues. The AHAC serves as the advisory committee required by the Florida State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program, to provide oversight and ongoing recommendations on affordable housing issues, to approve local housing incentive strategies recommendations, and to review the City's implementation of previously recommended strategies. At this time, the AHAC is seeking applicants who can serve in the following capacities: 1. One member who is a representative of those areas of labor actively engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing; 2. One member who is actively engaged as a for-profit provider of affordable housing; 3. One member who represents essential services personnel, as defined in the Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP). Members of the community who are age 18+ and are interested in serving a four (4) year term in one of these positions must submit a completed application form, along with a CV that includes the qualifications of the applicant. Application forms are available for download online at www.miamigov.com/AHAC, or for pick up at the Offices of the DHCD, City of Miami, 444 SW 2 Ave., Ninth Floor, Miami, FL 33130. Applications received for the categories above will be reviewed and considered by DHCD which shall then recommend applicants to the Miami City Commission for final appointment.
