The proposed project, Newhalem Creek Hydroelectric Decommissioning Project, is located in Whatcom County. To get to the project, take Highway 20 east from Sedro-Wooley for approximately 55 miles. Turn right at the sign for the North Cascades Visitor's Center, cross the Skagit River Bridge, pass Newhalem Campground, and take a left up the gravel road, following it for 1.5 miles to the Dam. This project involves 4.8 acres of soil disturbance for hydroelectric facility decommissioning activities. The receiving waterbody is Newhalem Creek and the Skagit River. Any persons desiring to present their views to the Washington State Department of Ecology regarding this Application, or interested in Ecology's action on this Application, may notify Ecology in writing no later than 30 days of the last date of publication of this notice.
