MACON WATER AUTHORITY SEWAGE SPILL A sanitary sewage spill occurred on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 12:15 pm to Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 5:30 am at 1566 North Atwood Drive. The cause of this major spill was due to a broken sewer main. The sewer main has been repaired, and the spill has been contained. The amount of the spill was determined to be 14,490 gallons, which entered a ditch feeding Rocky Creek.
